    Still having problems??? I am going to explain exactly what I did. I installed the sxs software so the card could be recognized, after that I imported the BPAV files straight off the card (which I plugged into my macbook pro) onto my external hardrive in a folder called “sxs dump” then I tried to import the files with XDCAM transfer and it wont even let me get to the files because the BPAV folder is transparent or unchoosable (even after I changed the location in the preferences). So after that I decided to try and imort straight off the sxs card in XDCAM transfer and it found the folder but all the thumbnails said no media available??? So at this point Im lost cause its just not seeing it. Am I missing some other type of software or what it seems like a stupid issue cause all the programs are in place and seem to be working but their not??!! I know the media is their cause VLC opens them and I can watch the entire clips. Is their some other way to import or convert these clips??? Please Help!!!!!

    when you put the card in the lap top it shows up as “untitled 1” correct?

    now open XDcam transfer. you have this software??

    at the bottom left click on “add”. navigate to the “untitled drive” (card) and it will see the BPAV FOLDER.

    it should make all those clips visible in XDCAM. you can play them in XDcam transfer

    highlight the clips and click “import”

    DO NOT REMOVE THE FILES FROM THE BPAV FOLDER. The BPAV folder must stay intact.

    XDcam transfer software rips the skin off the media and makes it into mov files that FCP can see.

    as long as you haven’t messed up the BPAV folders you should be ok.

    even if you renamed them, all is not lost. change the name back to BPAV and put each BPAV folder in it’s own folder named what ever you like.

    keeping the BPAV folders intact
    let me know

    Thanks for the info and prompt responses! It came out that my fcp6 needed to be updated to 6.0.3 and apparently xdcam transfer wont work if fcp is not upgraded and now I can import everything fine.

    I did the same thing. My problem is I can see the files, but it says ‘No image available’, and when I import those files, in FC, when I click to each file, there is no media. I mean, I can see the data is there (with timecode, time lenghth….) but there is no picture. I don’t know why.
