“I can now render the full 7 minutes to DVD format.”

    So far, so good 🙂

I don’t know if I can be of any more help though as I don’t use NEO.
Try posting this question in the other Sony Vegas forum as there are several more experienced users there and one of them may have a suggestion for you.

How come I cant open veg file from version 8 to vegas 9? Doesnt even recognize the file to be seen upon open prompt window. When you try to import it off a new project, I get an error while opening. Why is it giving me such a hard time? I restarted comp and renamed file to mymissing…blah blah.

    Thanks ahead of time

Are you using Pro 9 to open a Pro 8 file or one of the Movie Studio versions?
I’ve done it several times using Pro 9 to open Pro 8 files.

It was indeed a platinum movie studio version. I just saw a post stating that it wont work from 8 pro to a movie studio version. Only later versions for Pro would do the job of accepting such veg files. Man, your on top of it. You have good experience with Sony Vegas. Its nerve racking but I am going to install a trial version of 9 later on today.

I will post another question if I continue to have problems. Thanks for your time, it is much appreciated!

    Again, thank you Mike.

Juan, I had a suspicion that’s what you were trying to do.
Pro has always been able to open a Movie Studio File but it doesn’t work the other way, probably because Movie Studio is considered a “lite” version of Pro.
Good luck with the trial version and feel free to come back and ask any questions you may have as you’ll find that we’re a pretty friendly bunch here 🙂

Will do Mike, thanks for the comforting welcome. This site is so awesome and professional. I work a lot with After Effects, 3D animation, matchmove, chroma key and roto so if you have any questions in those lines, dont be shy! Great meeting you by the way. Take best of care.

Juan, always glad to help out.
I’m contemplating diving into After Effects soon so I just might take you up on that offer 🙂

I have a similar situation…I had been using the trail version of Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 and since the trail has now run out, uninstalled the trail version and installed the full Sony Vegas Pro 9.0. I had moved the .veg file I had been using/saving to another folder and tried opening it up (from that same folder) with Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 and it loads to 14% before crashing and giving me this error: “An error occurred while loading the project whatever. veg. An error occurred while reading the file. Make sure you have read to the file/folder and that it is not corrupted.” Does the 32/64 bit matter? I do believe the trail version was 32 bits and the full version I have now is 32-64 bits. I can’t see that being an issue, but as I’m not sure what’s going on, I figured I’d mention everything I know/have noticed. Regardless, isn’t the .veg file all I need (maybe besides the videos I had used to make the edited video, which I still do have) to have it work/load on Sony Vegas Pro 9.0?
