[Cecilia Langlois] “Anyway, I fully accept that it’s all gone. I just have to repeat everything. Sigh.”

    It’s a tough lesson to learn 🙁
My guess as to why the recovery programs only found two files is that you wrote some new files to your hard drive before you tried to recover the deleted ones.
I’ve always been able to recover files that I accidentally deleted but that’s because I realized what I had done and immediately launched a recovery program before doing anything else.

Same thing happened to me. Closed my file last night as usual, there was a “force close” error message because an “operation was working in the background”. In haste I inadvertently clicked okay. This happened once before but my files were okay. Tried to open the file today to find it was gone completely from the folder. I did a search and nothing. At all! Found your reply, Mike, through a Google search and your suggestion worked. I’ve done smaller projects where I’d also save as differnt versions of backup, but didn’t even think to do it with this one.

I logged in just to tell you thank you! I thought I had to recreate everything.

i’ve moved my vegas pro 11 program from one computer to another, and now my partially completed project won’t show up on the new computer, i’ve tried the method that you’ve posted, but it doesn’t work for me. a warning opens up saying an error occurred while creating the media file. do you have any suggestions?

    MIKE,

Years later, and your helpful comment is still saving hours and hours of potentially ruined projects. Thanks a million! (P.S. I created a Creative Cow account just to be able to write a note to you and personally thank you!)
