March 24, 2007 at 5:32 pmI took a look at that Hardware solution posted in this thread. The eyelight. If that passes BBC spec then you can bet it is one fantastic legalizer. This might be the solution to saving you a tone of time. How about this for a time saver.
Run the downconverted HD right into the legalizer and the legalizer out to the D-beta deck.
That will save you the laptop pass, hard drive space and further rendering time.
They have a product designed especially for a single user/workstation application. To me that is the best way to save time and money. Keep it in real time.

March 24, 2007 at 7:30 pmThe laptop pass is there so I don’t have to haul a tower and monitor to the place with the deck. Laptop and Io is a lot easier. Unhooking and rehooking up all the cables on a tower is not fun. Like I said this is a balancing act. When the Quad Dual Cores come out, maybe I will just leave the tower up there to master and use the new to edit. 🙂
