June 29, 2007 at 5:35 pmMy colleague is having a similar problem with a the same error (2175). DW will spend hours rebuilding and counting overlapped files (around 300) and then not be able to replace the directory at the end.
My question is, how did you identify which files were overlapping, so that you could delete them? Did you remove all of the overlapping files before re-attempting to rebuild the directory or piecemeal until it worked?
Any more details you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

June 29, 2007 at 8:04 pmDiscWarrior will give you a detailed list of all the overlapping files (which prevent the directory from being rebuilt). You can then go to the file submenu, and save the list, and then print it. Then, use the list, which will give you the exact location of each file that needs to be deleted from your boot drive.
The DW Tech Support guy mentioned that if some of these overlapping files were part of the OS, they would NOT be able to be deleted, and the step following this would be to “archieve and Install” the OS. Thankfully, I didn’t have to take this step.
