Big Render Woes

i am having the exact same problem on both a g5 and an intel mac using cs3 trying to render a large hd composite. during a full render, any of the placed quicktime files could just stop advancing. this is a big problem. my hd project actually need to be able to be rendered. never had a problem with after effects before. WASSUP. i have recompressed and re imported the quicktimes in various formats to try to fix the issue with no luck.

any clues? any ideas? any tips?
