Best SD to HD upscale solution? Trying to make 4:3 footage fit into a 16:9 film, seamlessly!

Ok this was ages ago, but I’d need a hint on how to do the best possible software upres.
You used compressor. Do you remember how you used it? Which settings….

Settings depend on your input and output aspect ratio. If you want 4:3 to pillarbox to 1080, set your padding to 4:3. If both are 16:9, leave padding alone. Set resize to Best and Retime to Better. Adaptive details can enhance a bit for up rez. Try without and with 100% and then fine tune to taste.
