What media are you burning it to? (DR-R, BD-RE) Does your Blu-ray player support that media? Some Blu-ray players only support BDAV on BR-R/RE media while others support both BDMV and BDAV, DVD Archtect only makes BDMV discs.
Also make sure that your Blu-ray players has the latest firmware. These things are very picky. Not at all like DVD players.

January 28, 2011 at 1:36 pmThe disc that I am using are Ridata BD-R 1-4x speed and 25gb. The rewriter is a LG BE12L30 with current firmware. It’s kind of crazy because you can see where the data was brunt into disc and only in middle of disc and not from the inside and going outward like most writers do. This is like the first quarter of the disc was skipped and the writing begins in middle of disc and goes out toward outer perimter but not all the way out. Writing is like in center of disc only??? However movie will play on this Blu-Ray rewriter just fine but won’t play on my LG Super Blu-Ray BH200 player. When I put it in player is says “data” and then goes to a settings menu? I tried playing with all the setting to no avail.
Thanks for your time and any advice you may have…John

I thought you said that it didn’t play? I’m confused.
DVD media was never meant to transfer the high bit-rates of HD so Blu-ray images on DVD-R media is a hit and miss game. They don’t play correctly on my Samsung Blu-ray player either. Just buy Blu-ray media instead (it’s pretty cheap these days).

January 28, 2011 at 3:05 pmI’m not the guy with the playback problem. I do have a LG BD player and it has been able to play my short videos (5 min.) burned to DVD-R. Glad to find out that there may be playback issues on other players. John G. what software are you using to burn BD?

oops… sorry Bob, I thought you were John replying. Go to know your LG works with Blu-ray formatted DVD disks. I’m looking to pick up a Sony Blu-ray player because this Samsung I have is junk and I paid several hundred dollars for it back in the day.

How about the firmware on your LG Super Blu-Ray BH200 player? I have had to update the firmware several times on my Samsung Blu-ray player to maintain compatibility with disc formats. It is odd that the disc seems burned from the middle to the edge. If your blu-ray player is seeking the center of the disc, it wouldn’t find any data.

August 26, 2011 at 9:37 pmHi Jon,
Long time to email. I’ve been reading this thread with interest as I’ve just bought a couple of z5 Sony cameras. This now means I can film in 1080 50i or 25p. Is there any problem creating a Bluray from 25p? Or should I stick to 50i. Regards Martin.

There shouldn’t be any problem using 25p to create the 50i that Blu-ray requires. Vegas will simply create two fields from one frame and since both fields will be from the same moment in time, there shouldn’t be a noticeable difference. This gives you the advantage of still delivering in 25p on another medium that supports it.
