BEST EXPORT SETTINGS FOR 7d FOOTAGE?

Here are the settings to export a test file using AVI-None:

You can use the same settings to export the entire file, but it will be very large.

You do not need to convert the source files prior to editing. I suggest the following workflow:

– import the H.264 source files into Premiere and edit as desired
– export a high quality intermediate file using either the QuickTime-PNG or QuickTime-DNxHD codec (you would need to download the DNxHD codec from the Avid website). Here are the settings for PNG:

To export a DNxHD file, I suggest the 1080p/25fps/185/10-bit setting with Color Level set to RGB:

Ok i tried DNxHD and i tried the quicktime pro res 422 in pro and then exporting that DNxHD. I dragged both clips into after effect,matched it up frame for frame and skipped into between them to see the difference adn found that the h.264 converted to prores and then exported DNxHD clip was better quality compared to the h.264 exported at DNxHD. So i have now converted all my files into pro res, edited again and exported DNxHD and the quality is good enough so I’ve sent off t he files now. I’m not sure whether to do this process in future again or just use the native h.264 footage in premiere pro, it will all just be trial and error which is annoying. Thanks for your help.
