November 10, 2006 at 4:58 pmUm, Nigel,
With the exception of Bitvice, I own all the programs I mentioned and have used them all extensively and against each other. My comments reflect my “hard facts” experience with them. If you want to know more, try them all out yourself.

November 10, 2006 at 5:15 pmSorry Chris, didn’t mean to sound ungrateful. Do you have a link for Episode Pro as you think this is the best one; I assume it is Mac compatible?
Also, do you know anything of Main Concept Encoder 1.5 for Mac as someone else on here recomends that one.
Thanks again guys for help and advice.

Don’t have any experience with Main Concept, sorry.
Here’s the link for Episode:

I would second Chris’ nomination of Episode. I use their standard version and have had excellent results. It’s a universal app, very fast, handles a large number of formats, creates easy batches and has easy-to-use filters, including a timecode burn. Download their manual which is excellent and will show you how easy this is to use.
