March 6, 2007 at 9:39 pm[Wayne Carey] “Have you been able to use Colorista in realtime? Aren’t you supposed to be able to use at least one layer in realtime? It is an FXplug plugin. I’m confused because I seem to have to render everything I do using it.”
Yeah I can do one layer of it in realtime using DVCPro HD 720/60 and 1080i/60. But I generaly use four layers of it and by dropping the RT down to Dynamic, I can run at least two levels of the plugin, but always have to render the finished look.

And there’s really nothing wrong with the 3-Way except you have to be very careful of how far you push the levels and colors. I’ve used it a ton.

March 6, 2007 at 10:00 pmcolor finesse is a great plugin – has all the features you need – no power windows though. Only problem is that echo-fire (needed for NTSC display) has a very difficult relationship with FCP – and breaks just about every time FCP is updated.

Oh yeah…. I’m not knocking it at all. I loved the fact that it is realtime and doesn’t need rendering on output. That’s it… You could say that I got spoiled.
