March 3, 2009 at 5:57 pmI have this exact same problem right now. I am using a Sony HVR-M25U to capture 1080i60 footage shot on an Canon XLH1 with Final Cut Pro 6.05. Using capture now only 20 minutes are captured. Any thoughts?

March 4, 2009 at 8:36 amSadly I never resolved that problem… I just used another computer, that didn’t have the problem, for some reason.
Are you sure that you don’t have some box checked that says “limit capture to…” or that the files are in your capture scratch anyway?
You could also try to capture to your desktop, instead of an external disk. I once had a problem like that, trying to capture to a FAT32 hard disk, which wouldn’t accept files larger than 4 GB.
It might have something to do with FCP’s settings… Or your computers settings.
I hope you find out what the problem is… -

April 23, 2009 at 9:16 amregarding TC issues when capturing from sony v1u,
ive captured a LOT of tapes that were shot on a v1u using a sony hdv deck (can’t recall which), capturing into Adobe premiere pro 3.this was a while back (and i’m now on FCP thank God) but I never had any issues like you guys mention with the v1u… maybe its just a question of hiring a VTR?
