Audio Gaps when importing DVD file

This is an old thread and a new way has come up to make doing this a lot easier.
Thanks to Gary James on the Sony Vegas forum, there’s a MUCH better and easier way.
This works best if you copy the VIDEO_TS folder from the DVD to a folder on your internal hard drive first.

Vegas allows you to open up a DVD .IFO file. This imports the entire .VOB chain for both video and audio tracks.

Click File / Open, then navigate to your VIDEO_TS sub directory and enter *.IFO in the File name input field. For a regular DVD you will see a VIDEO_TS.IFO, and a VTS_01_0.IFO. Select the VTS_01_0.IFO file and click on Open. Don’t try this on a DVD disk because Vegas will try to build an .sfk file containing audio peaks in the VIDEO_TS directory.

sry to resurrect, but while opening the VTS_01_0.IFO file does wonders for allowing the full movie to be put onto the timeline without audio gaps, rendering from the timeline doesn’t do full size real mpg files – only based on the itty bitty ifo file?

In my case, trying to get recorded movies off of disks and onto personal cloud.
