You said 23.98 is non-drop only, then why does the calculator that you recommend have a 23.98 drop option? I wonder if there are any other people or devices making the same mistake.

“The drop frame option in the calculator is only for making the conversion possible. DF 23.98 does not exist.”
The DROP FRAME option on the calculator is ONLY there so that you can convert 23.98 NDF to DF to see what the timing will be. That’s it.

ALL frame rates below 29.97 are NON DROP.
Drop frame became an issue in video.
Shane is correct 23.98 CANNOT BE DROP FRAME – Film output has no need to drop frames.
