Animation has horizontal distortions

Hm. Pixels is pixels, and if the dimensions were correct, whatever PAR was flagged for the animation shouldn’t matter to Avid. The import settings do matter, though. The good news: when your editor gets back, if Avid’s import settings properly match AE’s export settings, it should import okay, though slower, without artifacts. Let us know.

Hey guys, I found the problem.

I saved the animation as 720×480 DV aspect ratio pixels on a DVD as Data Files. I also included a “preview only” DVD video track for quick viewing.

Despite my lableling of the disc and the menu of the DVD, the editors thought to rip the DVD Video track as footage!
I too am a bit at a loss for words…

I imported the real clips using Maintain Non Square pixels. And all the animation works great.
