May 12, 2010 at 9:00 pm[Quentin Block] “Would it be OK to post a bunch of different short clips, rather than an edited reel? I’d like to post several individual pieces and also link to/embed the clips on my website that I’m working on. Don’t want to do anything that violates the COW.”
You can post whatever you like, it doesn’t have to be editor or cinematographer reels. We have plenty of clips, animations, etc.

May 12, 2010 at 9:24 pmThank you for the reply.
Is there a preference (from the COW perspective) for categories where random motion gfx clips (like interstitials, show packages, etc.) should be posted – those that don’t fall into commercials, short films, etc.?Also I’m wondering if there is a list of preferred specs from COW for videos that users will upload…
Thanks again!

May 12, 2010 at 11:06 pmJust put them under the catch-all of “Demo Reels,” that is what everyone else does.

May 13, 2010 at 12:00 amGreat, thanks.
Are there settings/specs that you (or anyone) recommend(s) for optimal playback on the COW?
I’d be using Compressor to format the clips…
Cheers,

September 10, 2010 at 2:38 pmI would love to know what you decided to do and how it worked out. I am facing the exact same concerns right now. Thank you.

September 10, 2010 at 4:36 pmI certainly support the use of Creative COW’s reels section for hosting your own reel or other sample videos, however you obviously could not host proprietary video content for a paying client on a free service that is open to the public.
I am doing a trial of Sorenson 360 right now – it seems to work nicely. We also use Wowza server which works very well.
Prices on both of these are reasonable.Mike Cohen

September 10, 2010 at 7:12 pmWe just added the ability to upload videos as private videos.
These videos will only be able to be viewed by a direct link that you can give your clients. They will also be viewable by you on your profile when you are logged in.
This should be a good feature for people trying to do what you are speaking of. Uploading videos that will only be viewed by individuals you select.

October 20, 2010 at 8:40 amHi there,
The service and quality looks great. But how do I change the poster frame/thumbnail of each video?
Thanks,
Mark
