January 4, 2010 at 4:35 amI thought that is what I was doing – but it turns out I was selecting the option – “DVD NTSC Video Stream” template, not the “DVD Architect NTSC Video Stream” template. Thanks for the help – I could import with no problem once using the correct settings.

January 7, 2010 at 2:23 amHave the same issue….
I’ve done this and it doesn’t appear to work. It worked for the Menu background with it’s music. But when I drag my main movie onto the Menu page and create the Selection menus and navigate to the menu page with the movie and preview it there is no sound.
Did I miss a step? Like i said it worked with the menu background just as you said, the main movie not so much.

March 28, 2010 at 5:01 pmhi, also having problems with DVD A (studio ver 4.5)
from Vegas Movie Studio platinum pro 9 I created, using format mpeg-2 main concept and template bluray 1440×1080-60i, 8 Mbps, MPEG-2 video stream and this created a m2v file
DVDA wont accept it. (unsupported format)is this a limitation of DVDA ? though it could burn HD movies ?
any recommendations on how I can create high resolution movies (dont want to compress-covert,or loose quality)note that I do not have a bluray burner, but a dual layer dvd writter. was told I could burn HD movies anyways, without BD writer)
thanks

March 28, 2010 at 5:39 pmNo, DVD Architect will not burn HD video to a DVD. It creates standard DVDs according to the official DVD specifications with which DVD player manufacturers must adhere to in order to carry the DVD logo.
Those specifications do not allow for HD video. Therefore, DVD Architect does not do HD video. 🙂 Sorry if I sound snooty, but those are the facts.
You can burn a data disc in Vegas Pro (can’t recall if Vegas Movie Studio will do this, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t), though. But it will not have menus, and a regular DVD can only hold up to around 20 minutes of Blu-ray-like video.

March 29, 2010 at 2:38 amthanks Rob, no worries about sounding snobbie…this is getting so complicated and I need the know how and a way to view quality movie.
so DVD, using vegas studio or DVD architect (using template dvd a NTSC) only has a resolution of 720×480 ? this looks awful on my HD 50 inch plasma TV.
the DVD format (not BD)must have better res-quality because when I watch a normal DVD, it looks much better than 720×480. I must be doing something wrong. The source media I used to create my movie is from my sony HD cam. (AVC 1920x1080x12)
any other alternatives you can think of, please feel free to suggest.
I am thinking of buying a bluray burner, if this is what it takes, then again,a bit pricey and not sure if vegas studio and its sister product DVDA really do burn BD …I have seen lots of post saying it does not.
thanks

March 29, 2010 at 4:08 amI assure you, no standard DVD (not even the ones of Hollywood movies you buy) has a resolution higher than 720×480. (Except for PAL DVDs, the format used in Europe. That’s 720×576. 😉
They may look better than what you’re getting out of Vegas and DVD Architect, but it’s not due to the frame size. More likely it’s due to the makers using equipment and people that cost thousands upon thousands of dollars. 😉
