February 4, 2008 at 4:25 amI just flew with 3 checked HVXs and they each had 2 batteries in the case and they went through Nashville and Miami airports. But like was mentioned it takes time to get things in place. It is getting to where it may be easier to just drive everywhere.
If anyone is wondering why this change, Lithium is a highly explosive element and most of the mass of the battery is there to keep it from doing so. (at least that is what my son, a chemist, tells me) But my question why is safer to carry it on then to check it.
