June 10, 2015 at 7:17 pmcould you turn off every audio and try to ram preview again? Better yet, can you temporarily replace every footage that has audio with a solid?

June 10, 2015 at 10:45 pmWORKAROUND FOUND
Okay, so I have no idea how to fix this issue but I have found a way to work around it. I go to the folder where my project file is located and double click it as if I were opening it. This process seems to “shock” AE out of the RAM preview.

June 17, 2015 at 2:59 pmWorking off a server might be the problem. I always work locally, especially dealing with footage. If I work with footage off a server, it gets pretty slow. I would work locally first, then save everything back to your server when you are done.

July 28, 2015 at 1:20 pmAnd Im not working from a server and all my settings are as they should be-as far as I can tell its a bug. It doesn’t always do it if I preview in quarter instead of full.

July 28, 2015 at 2:30 pmWhat (exact) version number of AE are you using? 13.2.0? 13.5.0? 13.5.1?
Previews are very different between 13.2 and 13.5 and 13.5.1 fixed a lot of the bugs in the new preview system.– The Great Szalam
