December 12, 2013 at 6:21 pmThis is very helpful actually. I know now that I am not the only one this drove crazy. I will start the process of re-installing. I wish it didn’t have to come to that, but a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.
Thanks for the time and good luck!

July 12, 2018 at 3:36 pmI am having this problem on PC. Did a fresh install of the OS help anyone resolve it on their PC. I am on a brand new computer which makes it more frustrating. AME 2015.2 works but anything after that does not except the QT References. But I have other Computers that will its just that they are not the editing computers…. Go figure….
Thank you all!

July 12, 2018 at 8:47 pmWow! I posted this a loooong time ago ☺
If I were you I would try a few things.
1: install the latest version of quicktime pro for pc
2: see if mpegstreamclip accepts the qt ref
3: install an older version of media encoder in addition to the latest version. You can easily do this by opening the creative cloud desktop app, scrolling down to Media Encoder, clicking the dropdown menu and selecting “previous versions”Good luck!

July 12, 2018 at 9:20 pmOn a somewhat related note – I have eliminated .mov from most of my workflow. From Media Composer, starting with a fully unrendered timeline, exporting as MXF OP1a (DNxHD /HR codec of choice) is a faster process with fewer steps compared to rendering, mix-downs, etc. See second half of my blog with some time examples and other benefits:

Something to consider in the workflow. With later versions of MC, AMA export is also part of normal export so in theory, you should be able to create a “send to” right to your watch folder from the bin.
