A question about green screen, AE and Premiere Pro. Which comes first?

Whenever I import the AE comp into Prem Pro, I lose all my green screen work.

So my idea was to put the project together using Prem Pro, then export to AE and add my custom bg with keylight. I’ve tried rendering the AE project using AME but it discards the green screen work. When I import into Prem Pro the same thing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

How do I build my project and green screen with AE without having to use AE to render?

I think I was drunk when I wrote that. That’s the only logical explanation.
