    Michael,
I think you’re onto something. Although I can’t seem to alter the sequence or project (haven’t learned where that is yet), I do see that I can play the clips (from the 5DII) in the viewer with no rendering, but not on the timeline (turns red when I drop them there). I’m looking for the setup controls – even for a new project – and suspect I’ll be able to correct this. At the moment, all I see in AIC in 1920 is 1920x1080i, and I know that it’s progressive, not interlaced.

Ah – just tried a complete new project – 1920x1080i (aic), with media converted to that (Streamclip). perfect. Michael – you had the right direction – the wrong settings required constant rendering on the TL. Thank you.

BTW, I used to be a regular on the cow – back when we had computers with springs in ’em. Always found the cow to have super helpful people. I seem to remember one of the posters had been the ‘Indian’ in the Village People – still around?

Glad you get it working. Cow is a good thing.

    Hey Tony,

What will you primarily be shooting?
This will be an important factor.

Just to give you an idea I shoot weddings and events and I found that a good wireless lav transmitter and receiver has been one of the best investments I have made. I use it all the time and found I was limited with only one set so I bought another one and can put wireless lavs on 2 people during a shoot.

That and a good audio recorder (zoom h4n) a good shotgun mic (sennheiser ME66) and definitely an important piece of metal: a few Y shaped mounting brackets that mounts into my cameras accessory shoes. It makes things easier to carry when you have all these accessories.

    Cheers,
