February 12, 2012 at 4:10 amDo Lion users actually need the Quadro drivers for Mac? I see everywhere on nVidias site that they are for leopard and snow leopard… Does Lion have these built in? or do they work just as good for Lion?

February 12, 2012 at 9:35 amThey are built in and work just fine.
You only need to make really really sure you are running the 64bit kernel to not make CUDA crash when using 4.1.29A slice of color…

February 12, 2012 at 10:36 amYou can try to run 470 alone. Because strangely enough mine 480 runs faster when alone. Having 480 and Quadro 3800 , running Hackintosh. No Power kext. H264 (canon5d) around 12-15 nodes blur100 – 25fps. when together its always slower 10 nodes 23-24 fps. 6core 24gigs ram. Try also to change pci lanes , it changes slitly for me.

February 12, 2012 at 2:27 pmCan one even ‘not’ run 64 bit kernels in Mac OSX these days, given that there is no 32/64 bit choice on install? Also, aren’t all the Intels at least Early 2008 and up 64bit CPUs?
I see you run 24GB of RAM, and earlier said Resolve uses 3GB~. What do you recommend for a system?

February 12, 2012 at 7:25 pmI recommend using Scratch 🙂
haha…just kidding…
I have the RAM for other things that use it, like Nuke, or AE or some simulation stuff i run.
Also I run Resolve in parallel to a Windows in a virtual machine or render in the background.
RAM us useful, but Resolve itself does not need it.A slice of color…
