3D circle of a photo

Thanks to Aharon’s tutorial on scaling z-space you can easily do this by clicking the photo’s 3D switch and adjusting the photo’s z-anchor point. Then mess with x,y,z rotation and watch it orbit! The other methods mentioned before work, too.

over the pasted few days of posting this effects, i’ve attempted to do everything everyone has sent me by email and i can’t figure it out for nothing…the 3D Assistants straight from the adobe web site doesn’t work, it downloads and installs but when you look for it its not there in AE, it is installed in the plug-in folder but not in the program itself so that didn’t work, I read other emails and downloaded the blue orbital sphere project but it was locked, AE told me i couldn’t make any changes to it at all…sigh so nonetheless im frustrated to know end for this effect i can’t seem to figure out. i’ll continue to play around with it but must move on if i can’t figure it out.

OK, I like this even better, another script, “createCylinder”, put the .jsx in your Scripts Folder.

Then startup AE, and Select the 2D or 3D layers you want to put into a cylinder, Run>Script>Create Cylinder. In the Panel you use to Create (Creer) the Help is in English. The first parameter corresponds to the number of layers per level, the second to the Radius (rayon) of the cylinder. It creates a cylinder with a CONTROL layer (Null) to rotate/reposition the cylinder.

createCylinder
distributes the selected layers around a cylindrical shape (using expressions)
