Yeah, I tried that. I set the JVC’s firewire out to DV and suddenly FCP had control and everything was happy… until I noticed the camera had started flashing a helpful “SWITCH 1394 OUTPUT” message over the analog out! (grr!)

There may be some way to do it, but for this project I think we’ll survive.

If its not too much bother, could you post your Compressor settings for going from 720p 23.98 to 720p59.94

In the encode tab, click video settings and change the frame rate to 59.94 and choose the proper codec

In the frame controls tab deinterlace and rate conversion should be set to ‘fast’, duration set to 100% of source, output fields should be same as source.

Make sure your geometry is set up for what you need and you should be good to go.
