But the only problem is, the video doesn’t stay in the middle. Do you know what I mean?

Do you have Size About Center disabled? If you do, you should enable it if you want the video to stay in the center of the crop.

Yea. But what I mean is, I got someone’s head cut off, so I want to move the crop box up, but when I do that, the video doesn’t go up. The video on the preview screen goes to the top part of my video. It doesn’t stay in the center of the preview window.

I’m sorry I don’t know what you mean. Can you post a before and after screen shot and explain exactly what you are doing and seeing?

Your crop is wrong. I don’t know what you did, but the “F” is stretched way out to the sides when it should be exactly touching the sides of the 16:9 video. This is your problem.

Hi John, thanks so much for the discussion you had with Justin on sony vegas, it’ has helped me so much and the link was sent to me by a friend.

Please let me take out some of your few minutes with this question about the same sony vegas. What are the settings to make the hight of the video more thinner than 817? If it’s less than 817, what should I replace 2.35:1 with? I just need a thinner image size than 817. I’m using sony vegas 10 Pro, I also have this question. On properties, there is Stereocopic 3D mode on the dialogue, what’s it for or what does it work?

First if you could answer the first question, I’ll be very happy Sir.

    Thanks

    Penjo

I’m not understanding your question. If you want the project thinner than 817 then just use a smaller number. You don’t have to worry about replacing 2.35:1 with anything. Justin was asking how to achieve the 2.35:1 aspect and I showed him the math. If you don’t have an aspect ratio in mind, then simply change the high to be as thin as you’d like.

If you want to calculate the aspect ratio, all you need to do is reverse the math. So let’s say you make the height 800, you divide 1920 by 800 and get 2.4:1.

[Penjo Pete] ” I also have this question. On properties, there is Stereocopic 3D mode on the dialogue, what’s it for or what does it work? “

If you are shooting stereo 3D with two cameras or a 3D camera you would use this mode to edit your 3D footage.
