Of course, if you always clone your system drive before any update you will never have to wait and you’ll never have to worry.

March 31, 2010 at 8:22 amha, until u get a bad clone:) that happened to me once cause I got lazy. Now I have at least two clones for every drive…it’s crazy man, and the bigger the drives get (and the more bloated the apps) the longer it takes to restore a machine; i’m up to over an hour now to get things back…crazy man…

March 31, 2010 at 10:45 amMy results from two machine upgrades: MBP and iMac, both circa 2008. Great, but problem with FxFactory (downlevel 2.1.3) on the iMac – I had to reinstall FxFactory as it was blowing compressor outta the water on projects with plugs from that container. I just reinstalled the same version, as I don’t want to get into that basket of snakes right now.
The MBP has an esata card, and it seems to work just as before. Other apps tested: FCS3 suite, CS4suite, C4D10.5, Poser7, Maya2010, TBStoryboardPro, DiskWarrior, CCC, DriveGenius2 (just benchmarking), and Office 2008 stuff.
I told the boys downstairs about the update – they have a 10.6.1 macpro protools machine, and they told me to go pound sand, but i guess audio boys are like that:)
Jigsps.Sure wish apple would surprise us with something really cool in a point release, like a 64-bit render engine:)
