    Hi Guys,

I am trying to figure out how and if it is possible to create Alpha Transitions using Sony Vegas 9. Everything on the Net points back to the new Final Cut Pro .. Is there a tutorial or a plugin that would steer me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Funny that you ask this, because I just wrote a tutorial on this. Unfortunately for you in Dutch. But the answer is simpel: apply the gradient wipe transition. A popup window will allow you to import your custom made gradient (ideal for making handwritings, walking travelroutes on a map or whatever you like…).

The gradient wipe transition is only present inVegas 9 pro. When you work with Vegas 8 or movie Studio, you can use the spicemaster plugin to achieve the same effect.

I could upload a pdf file, but I guess that Google will not translate this.

The tutorial will be published on a new website which hopefully will be on-line within 48 hours. I will let you know when it’s available.

Google Digital Juice.com….they have a tutorial on Using Double Alpha Swipes in Vegas. A Step-By-Step Flash Based Tutorial.

Also, Training: Swipes! Mattes in Vegas Using Luminance Masks in Vegas with Swipes!

Then the last one is Setting Transparency in Sony VegasCompositor’s Toolkit – Sony Vegas Training Lesson.

    Thanks:)
