  • Imporing illustrator assets get chopped

    Hi all,

I do quite a lot of animations involving assets from illustrator. I import them cropped and it crops past the border of some layers and not others, thus chopping some of my graphics in half.

I can import it document size and that’s fine, except then I’d have to change the centre point for each layer which is too time consuming.

Is there a setting somewhere that I’m missing to import the whole cropped asset when importing illustrator files.

    Many thanks,
    Michael

Works a charm for me. You are likely seeing a disconnect between the comp’s dimensions and the AI file dimensions. I have my AI designer work with a document size that is slightly larger than the format I’m animating, usually just DV. He found the 500×800 pixel workspace terribly confining till he realized the vectors were just being scaled in AE.
