Well I downloaded and installed vegas 9e and proceeded with a new project.
What a disaster!!, after spending a couple of days and producing a blu-ray movie only to find there was a seriouos problem !.

When I played the movie there was a slight jittery motion mostly noticable when the camera was panning,

I tried everything to correct this to no avail.
I then re make a couple of short takes from the movie trying different setting but nothing worked.

I then uninstalled Vegas 9e and re-installed Vegas 9 and tried a few short take using exactly the same files and they were perfect.
I then comenced makeing the whole movie again in 9 because the “old” project is not backwards compatible with 9.
The movie make on the old 9 woked fine .
so there must be a problem with 9e
Has anyone else found this problem ?

I have noticed that 9.0e doesn’t play back as smoothly as 9.0d did. I even uninstalled it and re-installed 9.0d to prove to myself that it was real and sure enough it was. The same project played back in 9.0d smoothly while 9.0e seems to be lowering the frame rate and jerking. I kept 9.0e on because it loads the projects faster and fixes some PSD problems that 9.0d introduced but I have seen what you are describing and am waiting patiently for 9.0f. 🙁

    Thanks for your reply John.
I did not try the project in 9d as I had previously had problems this this version not loading still pictures properly.

I tried to load the project in 9b and it would not so I had to re do it.

It is interesting that we both found this problem but obviously Sony did not perhaps they should test each version a bit more thouroughly ?

Oh by the way John, do you know any keyboard shortcuts for “Select events to the end” I looked on the shortcuts manual but could not find any
    Thanks

I agree with the problems in version E – just a complete disaster! Most projects do not complete opening and I have to go to the Task Manager to shut down Vegas! Funny because before NAB we had no probs with ver C – I could put an hour of Canon DSLR footage on the timeline and edit, play, render no prob. ver D changed everything and Vegas stopped working – E is better on RAM but still a complete failure!

Who is running the Vegas ship right now? I’ve been using this NLE for 10 years and never had the problems I’m having now. How does a program get worse with age?

    Hi John

Your post alerted me to that fact that I may have installed a 32 bit upgrade for 9.0e rather than 64 bit as my computer is 64. I just let sony do the auto update as i was busy working away without taking too much notice

If this does not work then I’ll be going back to D as you have mentioned because I am having an absalute nightmare at the momement with this 9.0 e version

    Thanks mate

Here we go again. 9e wont preview well and if i import from multiple dvd discs – I have to close down and reopen after each disc or Vegas hangs.

    Sony…this many bad revs in a row…really!
one step forward and 3 steps back.

No, the keyboard shortcuts don’t include the pop-up menu items like that. Just the regular menus. I would send a Product Suggestion to Sony. That would be a good one to have as a short-cut.
