DVD Architect Pro 5.0
Posted by Diane Sosnoski on May 14, 2010 at 6:52 amHi,
I’m creating my first slideshow in DVD Architect Pro 5.0. It’s going pretty well but it seems like there’s no way to apply dissolves between the slides. Is this true or am I missing something?Mike Kujbida replied 15 years, 11 months ago 3 Members · 6 Replies -

DVD Architect is a DVD authoring program which means that you create your slideshows or other projects in Vegas first and then use DVDA to author the DVD.
Vegas Pro 9 now allows you to create a DVD directly from the Vegas timeline. -

May 14, 2010 at 2:05 pmNo you cannot apply dissolves in an Architect slideshow. Like Mike says you could do this in Vegas. You could then put your chapters markers in along with your dissolves.
I believe transitions in slideshows should be a standard in Architect. Adobe Encore has such options. If you would like to suggest this to Sony, here is a link.

May 14, 2010 at 11:51 pmThanks for the responses. It seems to me that the whole process of creating the slide show is easier in DVDA as they have a setup for it, but without dissolves it’s not working for me. I’ll try and start over in Vegas.

May 15, 2010 at 12:57 amI do a lot of slide shows and find it very easy to do in Vegas.
Sort them into bins and then start adding them to the timeline, one by one of you want to or the entire bin at once.
The options founds in Options > Prefs > Editing allow you to do a good amount of customizing of the show. -

May 18, 2010 at 12:24 amDiane, I know you’re going to enjoy doing slides shows in Vegas.
Once you get comfortable with the basics, then it’ll be time to look into additional add-on programs such as Excalibur, Montage Magic, Ultimate S, Mayhem and many more, any of which will help you bring your slide shows to a whole new level.
