It seems I can’t add an alpha to a PNG but I can to a Targa or TIFF. BTW I didn’t know how to add an alpha but think I just figured it out. Tell me if I am right.

I go to channels in PS. Cut out the image in the alpha channel which is now B&W and save right?

    Thx

After Effects will also read layered PSD files. Why not convert use masks and save as a PSD file?

But, yes, the first additional channel beyond RGB in a TIFF will be interpreted as the alpha channel.

Poor editing of a post on my part. I meant “Why not use masks in photoshop and save as a PSD file?”
