Sony Vegas –> DVD Architect (still recompressing!!!)
I’m using Sony Vegas 8 (which I love) and DVD Architect 4.5. I have a project shot on a Panasonic DVX100B and the entire project is shot in 24P. So I rendered out of Vegas into mpeg2 using the DVD Architect 24P template without modifying any of the settings. Then I rendered out the audio as ac3. I put the files in my Architect project, and it says the files need to be re-compressed!
I used the default template, so I fail to see what the problem is! Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Are you sure that those particular files need to be recompressed or that “some” files need to be recompressed which might only mean the DVD menus? DVD Architect should not be recompressing files created with the DVD Architect templates in Vegas (at least they don’t for me).

Actually I just figured out the issue… DVD Architect 4.5 (STUDIO) does not support 24P DVDs. It has to re-encode up to 30frames again to make it ‘compatible’. Yes, I was/am sure that the video files were being re-encoded, and not the menu or audio. Thats what was driving me nuts!
DVD Architect 5 Pro works FLAWLESSLY! No problems! Only one issue… I downloaded a pirated copy of it in order to finish a project that is time sensitive. Being a professional I need to actually purchase the program. I can’t find it anywhere!! Not on ebay, google shopping, nothing. Is this a download only program or is it only bundled with Vegas 9? I am running Vegas 8, have no reason to upgrade, and need to get Architect PRO. I didn’t realize Architect Studio was handicapped when burning 24P DVDs!!

Actually I just figured out the issue… DVD Architect 4.5 (STUDIO) does not support 24P DVDs.
You failed to mention you were using the Studio version.
Is this a download only program or is it only bundled with Vegas 9?
It’s only available when you buy Vegas Pro and not as a stand-alone product.
