Hey all you helpful forum users! Hows life? I want to say thank you, as my last post got all the information I needed and the problem was fixed right away. This is not a problem but is becoming one. After I fixed the Quicktime error and got to work on my latest project I realized how slow Vegas is on my computer. Especially when I started getting farther into the project and more media was in. I have done so much work on my computer to make it faster even taking off all the graphics and making it look old…ick. Vegas is so slow that it can take me 5 minutes to get a nice looking, cropped piece of text in the movie. The sample screen is stop and go and will usually stop on one frame with jolty audio after 15 seconds of playing. I have to make the movie to watch it cleary. The program always stops responding and freezes. I uses Sony Vegas 9 on a Satellite Toshiba Windows Vista. Anything I can do? Programs I can install?
    Thanks!

Okay, are you trying to work with SD or HD?

Up your ram to 2 gigs and you’ll see an immediate increase. Your system is bare minimum from what you shared, you did not mention if it is dual core or your operating system. It all matters…except you video card that does not come into play with Vegas as it uses only your CPU.

HD and I am not sure where to check the dual thing. Not a very good computer anyway.

Vegas is running as fast as it can pedal on your computer. More memory will help some and is rather inexpensive and easy to do. But for HD I don’t think your box will carry the mail. At least not very speedily:)

You can work using HD just fine but you will have to do it by proxy. I would suggest Gearshift from VAAST it works great and is easy to use. It will swap out your HD files and you can do all your edits then once done replace them with the HD files again.
