Is there a way to render the multicam view?

I have two camera angles, and have used the multicam feature to choose between the camera angles.

I have a client who wants to see what both camera angles to see if the other view would have been better at any given moment.

Rather than have her sit with me watching jerky preview, I want to render the preview window showing both clips and which one is selected.

    Thank You

There is no way to do this using Vegas Pro’s built-in multi-camera support. You would have to use a 3rd party multi-camera tool like VASST InfinitiCAM, Ultimate S Pro or Excalibur. All of these will allow you to render the multi-cam view. They also allow you to keep your individual tracks in addition to the combined master track which some people find easier to work with for making changes.

This will take a little work but it will do what you are asking. Since you only have two cameras and just want to share those views do this.

1.If you do not have the time stamps for all of your cuts then simply go through you edits and add a marker to each. Add an A or B to the name to recall which camera you are cutting to. So your makers will be sequential but will also tell you what camera you are on.

    2. Then add two tracks and drop your original source media for each camera onto to each track.

3.Insert a track on the highest level, insert an empty event then and add the timecode FX it. Be sure to stretch it to the entire length of your video. Using track motion position your time code to a place that does not obstruct the camera views but allows it to be large enough to be easily read. This must be on it’s own track or it will be locked to either of your two tracks position and size. (see next item)

    4. Now go back to your two source tracks and select track motion. Simply resize them into equal parts so that both show up just as in the multicamera window.

    5. You will now have to go through all the tracks using your markers as a reference and cut the clips. It sounds like a lot of work but it really should not take you that long. I have just edited an 1:30 show and had about 120 cuts and it took me all of 25 minutes to do.

    6. Mute the multicamera track and render your new one.

Hope this helps…sorry there is not an easier way other then using your video camera to film the computer screen after syncing it and then rendering that.
