I need some help. I have a couple tapes left over from my sony pd170(stand def). I want to capture them to vegaspro8 useing my Canon hv30(high def). I can’t get vegaspro8 to “see” the camera while playing the pd170 stand def tape although the canon plays it fine and you can see it fine in the lcd.

Could someone tell me how to figure this out. I have alrady tried to set the camera output to “dv locked” and still no luck “seeing”/capturing it on vegaspro.

    Anyhelp?

    thanks in advance

It sounds like you already have the camera in DV mode. Does Windows see the camera when you plug it in? (it should) Also, are you using the DV capture utility in Vegas Pro? There are two capture programs, one for HDV and one for DV. Make sure you are using the correct one.
