I need to be able to play m2v1 files in vegas and not get JUST audio! I need this for a school project so it would be very helpful if i could get a response quickly. Thanks!

Where did the file come from? Is it a Quicktime MOV file? I did some Googling on “m2v1” and found this blog which offers a tool to change the fourcc of a MOV file to m2v so that more applications can read it. I don’t know if this will allow Vegas Movie Studio to read it.

Having said that, Vegas will not read an M2V file. You could use a tool like Avidemux 2.5 to convert the video to Huffyuv, MJPEG, DV, or some other format that Vegas can edit.

Try using GSpot to see if you have the codec installed that the file needs. Without the proper video codec, nothing will convert it.
