The Installation Wizard has ended prematurely
Hi i’m fighting a phenomenon and i’m a bit lost. I’m in need of help.
Software:
Windows 7 RC1 Build 7100 x64 english.
Vegas Pro 9c (x64 and x86)
DVD Architect 5.0bProblem:
I used Vegas Pro 9c for a while. But out of problems with dissapearing pics (in preview or after rendering) i decided to uninstall Sony Vegas and reinstall it completely in the middle of a project. The weired thing about it … I was able to do this in the past. It worked to install one time more after the uninstall. But after a new uninstall/reinstall try it’s not possible to install Sony Vegas and DVD Architiect anymore.Error message:
“The Installation Wizard has ended prematurely.
You’re system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again…”Facts and what I tried:
– The Installation Wizard works completely fine until near the end. The necessary c++ runtimes are installed and files are copied. at the very end it says “Status” for about a minute and the a popup with the error message appears.– I downloaded new files directly from Sony Creative:
* Sony Vegas Pro 9c (x86) – Same error
* Sony Vegas Pro 9c (x64) – Same error
* DVD Architect 5.0b – Same error!!!
* Soundforge Pro 10a – NO ERROR!!!?– Very insteresting point is that i’m able to install soundforge without a problem!?
– The error shows up before any license information can be entered.
– I installed with Administrator privileges
– I did a complete “clean” uninstall as suggested at the knowledge base of Sony Creative. I followed the rules for x86 and x64 clean uninstall. Including things like: Deleting “Sony Creative” entries in the registry. Deleting folders in program files (program files (x86)). disconnecting usb devices. uninstalled and reinstalled the c++ runtimes with sp’s including updates manually or with the Installation Wizard not only one time. I rebooted many times (believe me).
But the error message keeps popping before the installation comes to the end. I’m really stuck here. Something is still wrong.
Please give me an idea what to do.
Thanks a lot.Rudi
