Sorry if that is a complete n00b question (I am) and if that topic has been touched several times… feel free to spank me but I’m on a very tight schedule here… : |

    – I do have HD footage and
    SD High Speed (300fps)
    – all .mov’s shot with a CASIO EXILIM

    * I tried importing the HD into Movie Studio Platinum 9 – the footage is stuttering in the preview and

    – then tried to render the HD-mov’s a few times (with different settings) to get HD / normal .wmv or .avi’s – the results are crap each time – the stutter doesn’t go away.

    – Tried to convert the HD-mov’s into avi’s with different video converters (freeware) – no improvement

    * got myself 8 Pro and thought: maybe?

    – same stutter
rendered it as MPEG-2… omg… the result is awful…. not remotely any “High” definition left.

I’m at the end of a long trail. I do have a tight frame edit promo videos that shot in SD (slo/mo) and on HD (normal) – can’t process the HD footage.

    Q:
    – how do I import and edit HD footage into 9 Platinum/ 8 Pro?
    – are there settings I have to be aware of when importing/ defining a new project?
    – are there settings I have to be aware of when rendering that project (preferably to get HD .avi’s)?

    Thanks for reading. Any help greatly appreciated. I’m a n00b – grant me pardon – I’m trying…

I continue to have problems with Vegas 8.0c
I am editing HD video from my Canon 5D Mark II and the program bombs constantly. Some of the video clips look red and won’t even play back. I dropped the same clips in a “cheaper” editing program and they work fine. When I tried to burn my project to a Blu-ray DVD is gives some fatal exception error and bombs out. ANY HELP would Be GREATLY appreciated. Paul

I’d also be working with 8.0c. Sad to hear about your issues… I hoped it’d just be me… my only other alternative right now would be WMM… 🙁 don’t even want to consider that…
