  • HD to SD DVD question.

    Hello,

Ive been exporting my HD videos to the proper settings for an SD DVD (main concept mpeg2, dvd architect NTSC video stream template and the AC3 audio).

It works out fine until I watch the dvd on an HD TV. For some reason it always includes the black bars, top and bottom, squashing the image slightly ( it never does this on an SD tv).

I thought this was because of the TV settings until I burned a dvd in architect that was imported as an HD wmv. After architect encoded the clip and burned it I noticed that it played back in widescreen without the bars squashing it on my HD TV.

Why is there a different result with the dvd architect template vs letting architect render a HD wmv video.

Should I stick with my current setting or is there a better way?

    – Thanks

Those are not the proper settings. The DVD Architect NTSC Video Stream template will produce 4:3 media not 16:9 media. The proper render template for HD media to DVD is the DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream template (with “Widescreen” being the key ingredient).
