It’s so weird, I have a video that recognize on my laptop using Window Vista, but not on my desktop using Windows 7, the codec using GSpot is:

    File Length Correct
    AVI v1.0
Interleave: 1 vid frame (33 ms)
    Audio frames: Split across interleaves
    Video: 636 MB (93.46%)
    Audio: 40.8 MB (6.00%)
    AVI Overhead: 3.67 MB (0.54%)

[JUNK] This file was made by AviUtl 0.99.

    0x0055 MPEG-1 Layer 3

Could anyone please help me to find the codec to download to make my Vegas in the desktop recognize the file? Thank you very much!

You didn’t give us the codec information. What you have there is the container information. The codec is listed on the top right in the Video attributes. (like this):

What is in the codec and name fields?

Where did you get that file? That’s the Microsoft MPEG4 codec which should be in a WMV container not an AVI container. It gets installed as part of Windows Media Player. Check that the versions of WMP are the same between your two PC’s.
