  • Bizarre error – WMV 3 Mbps

My project, originally from a Panasonic AVCHD camera and in 1080i, works fine when rendered to WMV 5 Mbps or WMV 6.7 Mbps. When, however, rendered to WMV 3 Mbps I start to lose chromakey and title underlays .. SOMETIMES! And at varying points in the timeline! If I replace clips or shift tracks the problem seems to move.

When rendered to Sony AVCHD the sound track arrives late for the end of the video! Aaaargh!

These are probably two unrelated problems but I’d be grateful for your views on either!

You “lose” the keys, or they just aren’t accurate?
One small trick if you need multiple destinations from the same timeline, is to create a high-grade master such as an XDCAM master. Then you’re sourcing from an assembly.

    Hi Douglas,

    Thanks for your response.

I’ve had keys disappear and also some arrive late. What I find odd is that this occurs only when WMV 3Mbps is used,- with a higher bitrate all is well.

I will try to make a 3Mbps version from a higher bitrate one in line with your suggestion,- thanks.
