I’m pretty new to Vegas and having a little trouble with color correction for this project…

Please take a look at: https://clients.omnivibe.com/destiny/TestImage.jpg

What I’d like to do is de-saturate the red books in the top-left corner a bit. I tried using a secondary color filter and the eyedropper to limit it to that red, but it’s too similar to the red in his lips, etc.

Is it possible to crop the filter to only that corner of the screen?

Also- basic question, how do I undo while adjusting a filter?! (i.e. if I move a slider to the left and then decide to undo)

To add an effect just to one part of the event:

Duplicate your track with the event, apply your effect to the upper track and add a mask (e.g. using the event pan/crop tool) to select the area you would like to be affected.

Did you add the effect to the event, to the track or to the project? In all cases you can simply open the FX again and adjust the settings. However, the way you open the FX depends on to which level (event, track or project) you applied it.

Thanks for the tip about cropping- I’ll try that 🙂

    Let’s say I add a plugin like color-correction to a video event.

Now I’m in it dragging sliders around, and I push the hue a little too far. Now I’ve let go of the mouse, and I just want to undo that movement (without manually dragging back- as it won’t be exactly the same)

    Hi David! Welcome to Vegas!

Per your question of undoing an fx modification… well there is no way of doing that in the conventional sense.

However, you will notice there are presets that you can start with. One of those is reset to none. In addition, you can make your own presets as well. If you have something that is close, make it a preset and work from there. Once you have it exactly how you want it, resave the preset.

I hope that was helpful for you.
