Slow down video to half speed
Here is an interesting idea… I am restoring video from 50 years ago. It’s pretty funny stuff but it’s hard to see everyone since the people seem to be zipping by quickly and the video capabilities back then were rather limited. I think that the entire sequence would be much more enjoyable by slowing down the frame rate when mastering. Is there a way to stretch the video out over the timeline?
Now here is the problem… I have deleted the bad parts of the video by splitting the large event into smaller segments. I’m told that Vegas doesn’t need “join” or “combine” events because it’s non-destructive editing, etc. That’s all good but when I try to select all and drag the marker to stretch the timeline, it only extends the last event. So yes, I wish there was a way to combine that stretch to all the items or combine them to slow down the video proportionately!

The first thing you need to do is to group ALL the events together.
Click the first one (both audio & video), shift+click the last one (both audio and video) and press G to group them all together.
Now that they’re grouped together, place the cursor key at the end of the last event and hold down the Ctrl key.
You should see a ~ symbol appear under the cursor rectangle.
While holding down the Ctrl key, drag the clips to the right as desired.
This will slow it down for you.
