Minority Report Tutorial?
Posted by Sean Tatalovich on March 24, 2009 at 6:12 pmdoes anyone have a cool simple tutorial on how to create the minority report effect moving screens across the screen?
I know it involves motion tracking. some ppl use a dot on the finger to pinpoint the tracking but won’t this be visible in result?

You don’t a point on the finger if there’s contrast between the finger and everything else. but tracking data from the finger is not necessarily the motivational force behind movement of the panels since there is an implied snapping function and quite sophisticated ballistics considering the items are completely invisible to the actors.

March 24, 2009 at 11:18 pmHow I would do it is use bonjour 3-d solving. Once you have your tracking data, you can “simply” create all your special effects around that.
take the bonjour tracking
