Using V-pro9c 64 bit. I can’t seem to be able to move the cursor/play head on the timeline without it creating a highlighter “In” and “Out” region. Like many things, this can be useful, but I want to turn it off NOW.

    Thanks.

Vegas will always create a loop region if you drag the cursor.
If you don’t want the region to remain after clicking elsewhere, go Options > Prefs > Editing and enable Collapse loop region when no time selection is present.

Just ignore it. It’s there strictly for convenience and doesn’t affect the editing at all. The question isn’t so much “How can I make it act like another app that doesn’t highlight” but rather: “Why would you want to?”.

Anyway, as you’ve been told, you can turn it off. But I wouldn’t recommend doing that. Try it; you might find it useful eventually.

Why not? I always turn on “Collapse Loop Region” – one of the first things I do after installing a new version. Only thing I can see it effects is using the “I” and “O” keys in the trimmer which I don’t use anyway.
