  • Expression in range of a text animation?

Posted by Sam Ohmae on March 23, 2009 at 1:42 am

First of all, I’m sorry for my English. It’s not my native language.

Well, I’ve some doubts about expressions.

I’m trying to control the range of a text animation, to do something like that:

I want that the start value increase every time, and stop when the time of the layer is about 60% of total layer time, and at that moment, the start value is 100%. I try so hard, but I’m still noob in After Effects, so I can’t do it.

    I hope someone help me.

    Thanx in advance!

There seems to be a logical inconsistency with what your saying.
You say you want something to increase and then stop at 60% and when that happens it goes to 100%.

Perhaps you can explain it with fewer words (and/or shorter sentences) and even use an equation to help us understand better.

    Cheers

Yeah man, now I see that my question was a bit weird. I’ll try to explain it better:

The range value can be between 0 and 100%, right?

So, what I wanna do is when the layer duration is about 60% of its duration (someting like (layer time*0.6), the range value must have the 100% value.

This makes sense now. Unfortunately, there are lots of issues to resolve to get the script just right. I humbly suggest that you try the
    COW’s AE Expressions Forum.

    Good Luck!
