I have to undersample my Panasonic HMC150 footage because I am recording 720 30p. The properties in Vegas 9 show that an undersample rate of 1.0 produces 59.940 fps. This is giving me some nasty ghosting. So I have to undersample to .5 to get the correct 29.97 fps. So I have to change the settings for all of my clips.

I’ve been changing one clip, copying it, and then pasting properties to all my other clips. Here’s the problem. Whenever I cut a clip, the second part now changes back to 59.940. This has put a slowdown to my workflow. Is there a setting where I can prevent this from happening?

    Thanks!
    J.

Why don’t you just set your project properties to 30p? Use the Match Media Properties setting in the Project Properties:

Alternately you could Disable Resample on all of the clips. This will get rid of the ghosting as well. In fact, you could do all of your work in 30p and then when it’s time to render to 29.970, drop the entire project into a master 29.970 project and set Disable Resample for the nested project and then render as normal. (I assume you plan to deliver at 29.970)
