Hi! I’m using Vegas 9 Pro, and i can output the AVCHD files to one of three formats: MP4, MPEG-2 and just AVC (“video elemantary stream”). Which of these output formats works best for creating a BluRay-disc?

I would select a format that is closest to your source video. If you are shooting HDV then use the MPEG2 templates. If you are shooting AVCHD then use the AVC templates. AVCHD is more compressed and smaller than HDV so if you are trying to add more video to the disc than HDV will allow, then use AVCHD instead regardless of your source. These are not hard-and-fast rules… they are just guidelines.

OK thanks john! I’m outputting to AVCHD m2ts, because that’s what i get from my source at the moment (my own HD camera), and it works great.
