I just got Sony Pro 9 and no .avi-files or .mov-files seem to work in it. Sony will just shut off the files and the words “media offline” shows in the video that is open in Sony. It has something to do with the wrong codecs??

I read in another thread that there is a difference if I have 64 bit or 32 bit Sony9, but how will I know which one I have and how can I change to another (sorry am really new to this…)

    I appreciate any answers!!

You can download both versions here:

and install them on the same system, no problem. The shortcut links will say “Vegas 9.0” for the 32-bit version and “Vegas 9.0 (64-bit)” for the other. I have personally experienced situations where a QT render would not work in 64-, but worked fine in the 32-bit version, just as an anecdote. Not saying one version is “better” than the other and if you aren’t experiencing problems, I wouldn’t worry about it at all, but, on the other hand, it doesn’t cost anything but disk space to have both installed and it sure is easy to troubleshoot.

I had the same problem but then I installed all the DIVX codecs and downloads they had and the avi’s opened fine. Just go to the DIVX website, hope that helps.
